The Armani Group has officially announced a pivotal leadership appointment, naming longtime executive Giuseppe Marsocci as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This move signals a strong commitment to continuity and the preservation of the iconic Italian brand’s core values following the recent passing of founder Giorgio Armani.
Marsocci steps into the CEO role at a crucial juncture for the luxury house, bringing with him over 35 years of experience in the fashion and luxury sector, including an impressive 23 years within the Armani Group itself.
A Natural Choice for Continuity
The decision, unanimously proposed by the Armani Foundation, underscores the company’s intent to maintain the path forged by its legendary founder. Marsocci is an internal veteran who has held key leadership positions both internationally and in Italy, including:
- CEO of the Americas, overseeing the New York office for a decade.
- Most recently, Deputy General Manager and Global Chief Commercial Officer, where he worked directly alongside Mr. Armani in the global management of the business since 2019.
His deep institutional knowledge, coupled with his international professional experience and close working relationship with Giorgio Armani, made him the most logical and natural choice to lead the Group into its next phase.
Upholding the Vision in a Changing Market
The appointment comes as the Armani Group navigates a significant period of transition and implements the succession plans outlined by Giorgio Armani prior to his death.
In his first statement, Marsocci acknowledged the magnitude of the task: “It is a project of extraordinary importance, ensuring continuity and enhancing one of the most prestigious Made in Italy brands in the world.” He also recognized the challenges in the current luxury market, emphasizing his commitment to perpetuating the founder’s business model and “idea of beauty” with consistency and sensitivity to the expectations of a changing world.
Marsocci will report to the board of directors, which is chaired by Leo Dell’Orco, a long-time collaborator of Giorgio Armani. Silvana Armani, the designer’s niece and head of women’s design, will be appointed as Vice Chairman.
This veteran leadership team, anchored by Marsocci’s steady hand, is poised to safeguard the brand’s unique heritage while steering it toward sustainable growth and adapting to the evolving global luxury landscape. The fashion world will be watching closely as this iconic house begins its new chapter under familiar leadership.
