At CES 2026, audio giant JBL expanded its OpenSound lineup with two major releases: the flagship JBL Sense Pro and the everyday-ready JBL Sense Lite.
Unlike traditional earbuds that plug your ear canal, these models use air-conduction technology to rest comfortably on the outer ear. The result? High-fidelity audio that lets you stay fully aware of your surroundings—perfect for urban commuters, outdoor runners, or anyone who hates the “plugged-in” feeling of silicone tips.

JBL Sense Pro
The Sense Pro is the high-performance powerhouse of the pair. It is designed for those who refuse to compromise on sound quality while maintaining situational awareness.
- Hi-Res Audio & Bluetooth 6.0: The Pro is equipped with 16.2mm Diamond-Like Carbon drivers and supports LDAC, delivering 24-bit studio-quality sound.
- Crystal Clear Calls: It features a unique Voice Pickup Sensor that detects bone vibrations, working alongside four AI-trained microphones to cancel out wind and city noise.
- Battery Power: You get up to 38 hours of total playtime (8 hours in the buds + 30 in the case) and the convenience of wireless charging.
- Premium Build: Featuring a metallic finish and a 20° adjustable hinge, it’s built for a personalized, secure fit.

JBL Sense Lite
If the Pro is for performance, the Sense Lite is for effortless, all-day wear. It strips back some of the technical extras to focus on a lighter, more affordable experience.
- Slim Design: Using ultra-soft liquid silicone and memory wire, the Lite is designed to be so light you’ll forget you’re wearing it.
- Punchy Sound: It still features JBL’s Adaptive Bass Boost, ensuring your music doesn’t sound thin just because the ear is open.
- Reliable Battery: Offers up to 32 hours of total playtime (8 hours in the buds + 24 in the case).
- Durability: Like the Pro, the Lite is IP54-rated, making it resistant to sweat, dust, and light rain.
JBL is proving that “open-ear” doesn’t have to mean “low-quality.” By offering two tiers, they are making environmental awareness accessible to everyone—from the marathon runner needing safety to the office worker who needs to hear when a colleague calls their name.
Both the Sense Pro and Sense Lite are slated for a March 2026 release.
