Dolce & Gabbana (D&G) has launched a new campaign starring singer Madonna, celebrating 20 years of its hero The One fragrance line.
Madonna is joined by Cuban Actor Alberto Guerra, with the pair fronting the introduction of two exclusive fragrances under The One franchise. The marketing video is set to the notes of La Bambola – the iconic song by Patty Pravo, which is reinterpreted by Madonna in an exclusive Italian version – and is inspired by 1970s Italian neorealist cinema.
“At the centre of the scene stands Madonna: a strong, confident, determined woman,” in a statement from D&G. “She breaks conventions and boldly rewrites the rules of seduction with charisma and audacity. Every gesture is magnetic; every whispered word becomes a promise that ignites the imagination. Between jealousy and passion, the tension culminates in a passionate kiss, sealing the union of the two protagonists.”
The two new eau de parfums include The One Eau de Parfum Intense, created by master perfumer Quentin Bisch, which opens with pink pepper. This has been blended with notes of mandarin and blackcurrant to “deliver bright, sophisticated nuances”, according to D&G. The second fragrance, The One for Men Parfum, begins with spicy amber notes which have been combined with black pepper, nutmeg and Tarocco orange. Labdanum, combined with patchouli and clary sage, shapes the woody-aromatic heart, set against a base of tobacco.
The fragrances are housed in newly designed bottles, with packaging reflecting the “essence of the two new fragrances”. A statement from D&G read: “The bottles feature clean, linear silhouettes, finished with an elegant cap – golden for her and brown for him.”
