Porsche is once again proving that high-performance engineering knows no boundaries. At the 2026 boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest water sports trade fair, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer has unveiled a duo that bridges the gap between the open road and the open water: the Macan Turbo Concept Lago and the all-new Frauscher × Porsche 790 Spectre.
This world premiere marks the latest chapter in Porsche’s collaboration with the Austrian shipyard Frauscher, showcasing how the brand’s E-Performance DNA is being seamlessly exported from the asphalt to the waves.
While the all-electric Macan Turbo is already a benchmark for performance SUVs, the Concept Lago takes personalization to a “Sonderwunsch” (special request) level. This concept car is designed as the ultimate companion for the 790 Spectre, mirroring the boat’s aesthetic and maritime spirit.
- Design Cues: Finished in an exclusive Darkteal paint (Paint to Sample), the car features nautical accents throughout.
- The “Yacht” Interior: Inside, the cabin is swathed in marine-grade fabrics designed to withstand the elements, complemented by teak wood flooring in both the front and rear boots—reminiscent of a luxury yacht’s deck.
- Nautical Instrumentation: In a nod to seafaring tradition, the classic Sport Chrono stopwatch on the dashboard has been replaced with a functional marine compass.
The star of the show is the 790 Spectre, a 7.9-meter sports boat engineered from the ground up to house the heart of a Porsche. Unlike previous collaborations that adapted existing hulls, the Spectre features a new, lightweight hull designed specifically for electric propulsion.
The boat isn’t just “powered” by Porsche; it feels like one. From the Studio F.A. Porsche designed helmstand—featuring five analogue gauges and a Porsche sports steering wheel—to the bucket seats with embroidered crests, the “Porsche Driver Experience” has been perfectly translated for the captain.
The synergy between these two machines is more than skin deep. Both utilize the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) technology, allowing the boat to charge at the same high-speed DC stations as the car. This means you can tow your 790 Spectre to the harbor with your Macan (which boasts a 3.5-tonne towing capacity) and charge both simultaneously for a day of emission-free thrills.
