The new BMW i3, as the second model in BMW’s Neue Klasse lineup, marks a major technological leap into a new era of electric mobility. Launching as the all-electric 3 Series variant (i3 50 xDrive), it features dual motors, delivering 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque. Advanced sixth-generation eDrive technology, alongside innovations like Panoramic iDrive, Heart of Joy, and BMW Symbiotic Drive, elevates both driving performance and assisted driving to new levels.

Design-wise, the i3 blends classic BMW identity with a modern electric-focused aesthetic. Its sporty 2.5-box silhouette, long wheelbase, and short overhangs give it a dynamic stance, while a reimagined front with integrated grille and headlights creates a bold, futuristic look. Inside, the spacious, driver-focused cabin emphasizes both comfort and sportiness, highlighted by the new Panoramic iDrive system that enhances usability and immersion.

The BMW i3 redefines the BMW 3 Series legacy of sportiness with precise, effortless handling powered by advanced electromobility. Central to this is the “Heart of Joy” high-performance computer, delivering responses up to ten times faster and working alongside other systems in a new electronic architecture to enhance driving dynamics.

It also excels in long-distance capability, offering up to 900 km of range and ultra-fast charging of up to 400 kW—adding roughly 400 km in just 10 minutes. This is enabled by sixth-generation eDrive technology, 800-volt architecture, improved battery design, and features like bidirectional charging (Vehicle-to-Load, Home, and Grid).

Production will take place at BMW Group Plant Munich, which has been extensively modernized. Manufacturing begins in August 2026, with deliveries starting in autumn, as the facility transitions to fully electric Neue Klasse vehicles.
