The Mercedes-Maybach GLS has defined the top end of the luxury SUV segment since its debut in 2019, seamlessly blending meticulous craftsmanship, an unmistakable presence, and exceptional ride comfort. The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 elevates this flagship model even further through refined design touches, heightened interior comfort, advanced digital technology, and improved driving dynamics. True to Wilhelm Maybach’s enduring maxim, the vehicle strives to create the very best from the very best, offering effortless power alongside a commanding, serene ride.

Externally, the new GLS 680 makes an immediate impression with a redesigned Maybach-specific radiator grille featuring an illuminated surround and, for the first time on this model, a subtly backlit MAYBACH inscription. Drivers can also opt for an illuminated standing Mercedes-Benz star on the hood, accompanied by twin-star DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps detailed in exquisite Rose Gold. The exterior profile is further defined by optional 23-inch forged wheels with a precision ball-bearing center mechanism that keeps the Mercedes-Benz star perfectly upright as the wheel rotates. The arrival experience remains an event in itself: standard electric running boards deploy in under a second with integrated LED lighting and a projected Maybach pattern, automatically retracting into the side sills as the doors close.

Inside, the GLS 680 functions as a private sanctuary with elevated materials, expanded acoustic insulation, and new comfort features. Up front, the new MBUX Superscreen houses triple 12.3-inch displays featuring Rose Gold digital dials, accompanied by climate vents designed as freely moving gondolas. The multi-contour front seats now incorporate a cushion vibration massage, while the rear Executive Seats feature a calf-rest massage function for the first time. The cabin air is purified every 90 seconds by an electric filtration system, and sound is delivered through an enhanced 15-speaker, 710-watt Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos. Through the extended MANUFAKTUR program in Sindelfingen, clients can even opt for a full leather headliner hand-stitched entirely by a single craftsperson.

Underneath its refined skin, the GLS 680 is powered by an updated, electrified 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine producing 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, supported by a 48-volt integrated starter generator for effortless acceleration. A revised steering system offers greater directness and precision, while standard AIRMATIC air suspension uses predictive cloud data to prepare for upcoming road imperfections. For maximum stability, the optional E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL system analyzes driving conditions 1,000 times per second to eliminate body roll, pitch, and lift, even leaning into corners by up to three degrees in CURVE mode.

Digital intelligence is equally central to the experience, driven by the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and a water-cooled supercomputer processing 254 trillion operations per second. The MBUX Virtual Assistant utilizes multi-agent generative AI—incorporating technologies like Google Gemini and ChatGPT—for natural, contextual conversations. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated 11.6-inch HD displays with video conferencing capabilities, while driver assistance features include advanced parking utilities like Rim Protection Warning and automated Reverse Maneuvering. Every unit is built in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where a dedicated team of Maybach specialists hand-finishes each bespoke interior to guarantee the highest level of automotive luxury.
