BMW has presented the iX3 at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, featuring the first public demonstration of its AI-powered Intelligent Personal Assistant with Amazon Alexa+ integration, which enables passengers to ask multiple questions in a single sentence covering both vehicle functions and general knowledge. The automaker said it is the first manufacturer to integrate Alexa+ into its voice assistant, with the technology rolling out across BMW models equipped with Operating System 9 and X in Germany and the US from the second half of 2026.

The iX3 serves as the debut model for BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, with the technologies showcased set to be integrated into 40 new models and updates by 2027. The vehicle features sixth-generation eDrive technology with 800V architecture, delivering a maximum charging rate of 400kW and enabling 10 to 80 percent charging in 21 minutes.

The iX3 50 xDrive produces 345kW and 645Nm from two electric motors, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds. Its 108.7kW/h battery provides a range of up to 805km on the WLTP cycle. BMW said the new eDrive technology reduces energy losses by 40 percent compared to the previous generation.
The vehicle also introduces bidirectional charging functions including vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid capabilities. US models will feature NACS-compatible charging ports as standard.
