2027 Corvette Grand Sport Debuts with All-New 535-HP 6.7L V8

Chevrolet has revealed the 2027 Grand Sport and Grand Sport X versions of the Chevrolet Corvette, both powered by a new 6.7L LS6 V8. The naturally aspirated engine delivers 535 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque, featuring a high 13.0:1 compression ratio, larger throttle body, and upgraded intake system. It’s paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and will also be used in the refreshed 2027 Stingray. Production of the new LS6 returns to Flint, Michigan at GM Flint Engine Operations, reconnecting Corvette engine manufacturing with its original 1955 roots.

The Grand Sport is a rear-wheel-drive version of the Chevrolet Corvette offered with three chassis setups: a standard touring configuration with all-season tires, a Z52 Sport Performance Package with a stiffer suspension and higher-performance tires, and a Z52 Track Performance Package that adds carbon-ceramic brakes and track-focused tires. It also introduces an available quad center-exit exhaust—the first time this layout has been offered on a pushrod V8 in the C8 generation.

The Grand Sport X version of the Chevrolet Corvette adds an electric front axle with a 186 hp motor and a 1.9 kWh battery, delivering a combined 721 hp and all-wheel drive. It features multiple track-focused power modes (Endurance, Qualifying, and Push-to-Pass), along with electric-only Stealth mode up to 50 mph and a low-speed Shuttle mode that operates without the V8.

Heritage-inspired design touches on the Chevrolet Corvette include the return of Admiral Blue Metallic from the C4 era and relocated Grand Sport hash marks on the rear fenders to reflect the mid-engine layout. A Launch Edition interior in Santorini Blue with red stitching will be offered, and both models will be built at GM Bowling Green Assembly.
