Chipotle Revolutionizes Group Ordering with Build-Your-Own Concept

Chipotle Mexican Grill is redefining the way small groups order food with its new Build-Your-Own Chipotle concept. This fresh approach allows customers to personalize their meals in an engaging and communal environment, making dining more interactive. The article delves into the features of this new ordering system and how it aligns with contemporary dining trends.

How To Build-Your-Own Chipotle
Whether it’s for friends or family gatherings, “Build-Your-Own Chipotle” brings the Chipotle experience home in an effortless fashion to feed a small group with delicious, real food. “Build-Your-Own Chipotle” is served with large family-style portions of each ingredient, ensuring groups of 4 to 6 people can create any bowl, salad, or soft taco to their liking and dietary preferences. The offering opens up opportunities to create new items, such as nachos.

Each order includes:

  • One protein: choice of chicken, steak, braised beef barbacoa, carnitas or Sofritas
  • One rice: choice of white rice or brown rice
  • One bean: choice of black beans or pinto beans
  • One premium side: choice of guac or Queso Blanco
  • Choice of three salsas/toppings: sour cream, tomatillo-red chili salsa, tomatillo-green chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, fresh tomato salsa
  • Shredded romaine lettuce and cheese
  • Two large bags of chips
  • Eight soft taco tortillas
  • Forks, napkins and bowls for six people**

Guests also have the option to order two large bags of chips and three large sides as a separate menu item.

The emergence of Build-Your-Own ordering marks a pivotal shift in fast-casual dining. Chipotle’s unique model allows diners to customize their meals extensively, catering to individual tastes and dietary restrictions. This level of personalization enhances satisfaction, enabling groups to share in the joy of crafting their ideal meal. Unlike traditional fast food methods that limit choices, this approach fosters a communal experience, enriching social interactions and encouraging collaboration among diners as they navigate ingredient selections together. Ultimately, it reflects a broader trend towards customization that resonates deeply in modern dining culture.

In summary, Chipotle’s Build-Your-Own Chipotle initiative not only simplifies group ordering but also caters to diverse tastes and preferences, making dining out a more enjoyable experience. This innovative model highlights Chipotle’s commitment to customer engagement and its leadership in the fast-casual dining sector, paving the way for a new era of food customization.
