To mark the 130th anniversary of its Monogram canvas, Louis Vuitton begins a year of celebrations dedicated to one of the most recognizable and enduring emblems in the history of luxury.
Created in 1896 by Georges Vuitton as a tribute to his father Louis – the founder of the Maison – the Monogram has embodied an ongoing dialogue between heritage, innovation and culture for well over a century.
Originally conceived as a signature to safeguard the Maison’s creations, the Monogram rapidly became a universal language, inspired by Neo-Gothic ornamentation and the influence of Japonism. From the canvas to iconic leather goods, it has thrived in every era, accompanying changes in uses, travel and creative visions.
Monogram anniversary celebrations open in January 2026 with a celebration of the most iconic Monogram bags: Speedy, Keepall, Noé, Alma and Neverfull, hallmarks of Louis Vuitton’s heritage and symbols of a continually reinvented art of travel.
Louis Vuitton is also unveiling three exclusive capsule collections that revisit the Monogram by reinterpreting classic savoir-faire through contemporary artistry. The Monogram Origine Collection reimagines the 1896 canvas with a new linen and cotton jacquard weave in a palette of soft pastel hues inspired by the archives. The VVN Collection is an ode to the noble simplicity of natural cowhide, a Louis Vuitton signature material since the founding of the Maison that develops a unique patina over time. And the Time Trunk Collection is a bold new iteration of Louis Vuitton’s trunk-making legacy, reproducing the details of historic trunks through trompe-l’oeil printing.
With this landmark celebration, Louis Vuitton invites the world to rediscover the Monogram not simply as a design, but as a living legend, a symbol of unique savoir-faire passed on over generations, of creativity and excellence whose global influence continues to grow.
