San Francisco is a city of icons—the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep hills of Nob Hill, and the fog-swept coast of the Pacific. It is the perfect stage for the U.S. debut of a car that is an icon in its own right: the all-new electric 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA.
Following its global showcase, Mercedes-Benz took to the streets of San Francisco to capture the CLA EV in its natural habitat. From the urban grit of the Mission to the high-tech corridors of SoMa, the new electric sedan proved that sustainable power and sleek sophistication are the new standard for the city.
Visually, the electric CLA is a masterclass in “Sensual Purity.” In the new photo and video assets, the car’s MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red Metallic paint shimmers against the San Francisco skyline.

The most striking feature? The Illuminated Star Panel. The front grille features a radiant field of 142 tiny illuminated stars surrounding the central Mercedes-Benz logo, creating a lighting signature that is unmistakable, especially when reflected in the glass towers of the Financial District. Inside, the MBUX Superscreen spans the entire dashboard, offering a digital cockpit that feels more like a futuristic lounge than a traditional car.
The new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA brings sleek sophistication and sustainable power to San Francisco’s iconic streets. From sharing the roads with cable cars to the sweeping views along the Golden Gate, advanced torque distribution and precision handling ensure confidence at every turn – delivering a driving experience as dynamic as the city itself.
