The boundary between “beauty” and “tech” just got even thinner. At CES 2026, L’Oréal Groupe—the world leader in beauty technology—unveiled its latest breakthroughs designed to revolutionize how we treat our skin and style our hair.
Moving beyond traditional heating coils and rigid plastic masks, L’Oréal is betting big on near-infrared (NIR) technology to provide safer, faster, and more personalized results. Here is everything you need to know about the new Light Straight + Multi-styler and the LED Eye Mask.

For over a century, flat irons have relied on the same basic tech: metal or ceramic plates heated by electric coils. L’Oréal’s new Light Straight + Multi-styler replaces those coils with patented halogen infrared lights.
- The Science: Traditional irons often exceed 400°F, which can denature the keratin in your hair, leading to breakage. The Light Straight uses near-infrared light to reshape internal hydrogen bonds at a much lower temperature—never exceeding 320°F.
- The Results: In instrumental tests, this tool worked 3x faster and left hair 2x smoother than leading premium stylers.
- Smart Features: It isn’t just a “dumb” heater. It features internal sensors and machine learning algorithms that adapt to your specific hand gestures and hair type to ensure an even, protective finish.

While many LED masks on the market are bulky, rigid “helmets,” L’Oréal’s latest innovation—developed in partnership with iSmart—is a flexible, ultra-thin silicone mask that feels like a second skin.
- Targeted Care: Specifically designed for the delicate eye area, the mask uses a transparent microcircuit to deliver precise wavelengths: Red light (630 nm) and Near-Infrared light (830 nm).
- The Benefits: These wavelengths are proven to stimulate collagen and elastin, helping to firm sagging skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles.
- Future Integration: L’Oréal hinted that these masks will eventually be paired with specialized serums (like those featuring their new Melasyl molecule) to amplify the light’s effects.

While these products were the stars of CES 2026, they are currently in the final stages of refinement. A global consumer launch is expected in 2027, likely rolling out under L’Oréal’s professional and luxury brands.
