The new visualization appears cleanly on the Polestar 4’s 10.2-inch driver display behind the steering wheel—keeping the essential information in the driver’s direct line of sight.

The key to this enhanced functionality lies in the seamless integration of Google’s advanced AI with the vehicle’s hardware.
- Vehicle Vision: The system leverages one of the Polestar 4’s forward-facing cameras to “read” the road in real-time.
- AI Analysis: Google’s AI processes this visual data, analyzing lane markings, road signs, and directional arrows.
- Real-Time Guidance: The system overlays this data onto Google Maps’ navigation, highlighting all possible lanes for your selected route with a blue indicator. An arrow representing your car shows exactly which lane you are occupying.
If you are stuck in the far-left lane and your exit is rapidly approaching on the right, the system provides early visual and audio cues to prompt you to merge across safely and efficiently, reducing the risk of a missed exit or a frantic, last-second maneuver.
