Rivian announced the full trims and pricing for its new R2 mid-size electric SUV, designed to make the brand more accessible while maintaining its signature design, performance, and technology. Deliveries will begin in Spring 2026 with the R2 Performance Launch Package starting at $57,990, followed by Premium versions in late 2026 and Standard models in 2027. Built on a new mid-size platform, the R2 offers up to 656 horsepower, 0–60 mph in as fast as 3.6 seconds, and an estimated range of up to 345 miles. CEO RJ Scaringe said the vehicle reflects the company’s accumulated experience and the team’s strong attention to detail.
Rivian revealed the R2 lineup, offering multiple trims to suit different drivers while maintaining the brand’s performance and adventure focus. All models include a native NACS charging port for access to the Tesla Supercharger network and support other chargers with a CCS adapter.

Rivian announced new design, capability, and technology details for the R2 SUV. The model introduces three new exterior colors—Catalina Cove, Esker Silver, and Half Moon Grey— alongside existing options like Midnight, Glacier White, Forest Green, Borealis, and limited Launch Green. Buyers can also choose from four wheel designs (19″ to 21″), including all-season and all-terrain setups, all with a 32-inch tire diameter.
Inside, the R2 features a nature-inspired minimalist interior with Birch wood accents. Performance and Premium trims offer Black Crater Signature and Coastal Cloud Signature interiors, while the Standard trim uses a simplified Black Crater design. The cabin emphasizes practicality with 90.1 cubic feet of storage, a 5.2-cu-ft front trunk, fold-flat rear seats, and a rear drop glass window for open-air airflow and transporting long gear.

The R2 is nearly 2,000 lbs lighter than the R1 and has a shorter wheelbase for improved agility while maintaining off-road capability, including 9.6 inches of ground clearance and strong approach/departure angles.
Technologically, the R2 features an AI-ready software-defined architecture, 11 HDR cameras, five radars, and built-in Autonomy+ driver assistance (optional subscription). It also includes 200 TOPS of AI compute, an upcoming Rivian voice assistant, haptic steering-wheel controls, dual digital displays, and over-the-air software updates.
Deliveries begin Spring 2026 with the Performance Launch Package, followed by Premium models in late 2026 and Standard versions in 2027. Reservations are open with a $100 refundable deposit.
